Default Serious Door Lock Problem

Hello Everyone, I just purchased a 2001 Lexus GS300 and I really need my front passenger door to lock. All of my doors unlock via inserting the key and door lock button except the passenger side. When I press lock or unlock using the button inside, you will here the sound twice. Also, my key fob does not work, I tried programming it again but it seems it does not want to work, could it be the passenger side not locking causing the problem?

I tried manually locking the front passenger side but it doesn't seem like it wants to so what is the problem? Is the cable not connected because if it was just the actuator, I am assuming you can lock it manually but this is not the case because it freely moves loose.

If the lock moves freely it is probably not connected to the actuator. Probably a damaged or disconnected cable. Your not going to know for sure until you get that door panel off

this happens to everybody on this forum. You can purchase a new assembly / wires off ebay. Good luck. Its not a difficult fix by any means. Follow the link lexo98 posted.

So glad it may just be the cable and not the actuator, could this door lock problem cause my key fob not to work because the passenger side wont lock or unlock?

I fixed it, both my manual lock and key fob works now. However the actuator is bad though, my key when inserted into the passenger door doesn't unlock or lock, would the that be the actuator too?

How much did he wind up charging you? Did he replace all 4 actuators?
