Default check engine light

Hi I bought a 02 GS300 , My problem is CEL is on can somebody help on how to check this CEL, What are the steps to begin with thanks in advance,,,

do you have a parts store near by that can run the codes?

they don't do run test codes anymore, Can somebody show me the chart codes for our cars, I know somebody post that recently ..pls. help thanks.

get an
obd reader obd reader
yourself. you propably have a smartphone anyways.

There are no charts. for abs there is a way to blink out the problem on the dash, but not for cel codes.

any auto shop repair shop can run the code for you for a few bucks.

ok finally I got the code which is P1780 Park/Neutral Position Switch Malfunction, Transmission solenoid circuit..Where is the location of the switch ? Any ideas where to start?Please can somebody help me to fix this ?appreciate guys..
