2003 GS 430 /Trunk Can't Open - tried everything - help
I have a 2003 GS 430. My trunk can't open. The key turns half way before it gets stuck. I called the locksmith, he mentioned it's most likely a baggage / item is interfering with the opening.
I tried opening it from inside the car,and valvet key button under the steering wheel. I also looked in glove box for another button or switch to open the trunk.
Before I take it to the dealership, is there any other advice.
Thanks.
Henry

my 02's trunk is terribly sticky, I have to pull on the trunklid while holding down the button. It seems like the design is prone to gumming up or corroding, I'm going to take mine out someday and try cleaning and oiling it.
Try pulling up on it while holding down the remote button. I had an IS300 that the trunk latch siezed, I had to crawl though the seat access hole (yes, halfway through) and take apart the trunk mechanism until I could release it with a big screwdriver and clean up the latch and oil it.

Remove the back seats, remove the cross bar behind the seats, wiggle through that space, remove the two 10mm bolts holding the bottom part of the latch for the trunk and it should pop up, from there you can diagnose why it won't open. Locked my keys in my trunk in my 2000 GS. They don't come with manual latch or button in the glove box and the switch didn't work. Good luck
