Transmission oil pan removal dipstick question
So I'm in the process of removing my pan for the 1st time and was wondering how to remove the dipstick base?does it side down/off with the pan or do I disconnect it somewhere?
Thanks in advance!!

The transmission pan has a tube that is attached to it. The tube is where the dip stick slides into. Remove all the bolts from the pan, wiggle the pan and it will come loose. You will see that the pan is attached to the dip stick filler tube. Not too big of a job, just messy.

I don't think the description is that clear.
The transmission dipstick is on two parts that join up near the driver side cat. When you pull the pan down, the two sections of the tube should separate. The upper part of the tube is bolted to the head and remains there when you pull the pan down.
