Dim DASH at Night
I really don't like the auto-dimming feature. It really doesn't make sense to have a **** to control how bright your gauges that are set to high but still is low. My sister has an LS and I love how bright her gauges are at night. Oh well.
I also had this problem on both my 98 and 99 GS400.I disconnected the battery and cleaned the terminals and battery cables. On the 98 it made a huge difference. It is very bright now.On the 99 it made no difference whatsoever. The wierd part is that the 99 had some corrosion and i thought it would be the one to work better.
Sorry to bring this back from the grave, but figured it'd be better than to start a new thread.
Has anyone found a way for us to change the auto dimming feature from auto > manual on the dash lights? (Without having to take it to a Lexus stealership.) It took me forever to realize that those 2 sensors I had wondered so much about on the dash are what's causing it.
EDIT: Found a little more info, it sounds like the C-Best settings the dealership does is really the only way.
