Default Gasoline weight reduction

Gasoline weighs about 6.7 lb/gal, so if you don't have 10 gallons in the tank, you save 67-lb.

How about if one goes on a diet?

OK i have a question, I dont know anything about carbon fiber other then the fact that it is alot stronger then steel, if price isn't an option, why couldn't they make a Frame for a car that is Carbon fiber? wouldn't that save alot of weight for the car? or does it flex too much?
Well it is super expensive. And it has take time to mold and shape it into car applications. The Ferrari Enzo makes huge use of it as do the Pagani ZOnda. THe greatest road car ever, the McLauren used almost all carbon fiber. That car was 1 million dollars. Carbon fiber is not an option on mass produced cars. Accidents for instance, who woudl fix it and how? That is why aluminum is still rarely used, it is harder and more expensive to fix.

If one went with carbon fiber door, hood, fenders, and truck lid would it save a lot weight? How paintable is it?

If all fails, bigger turbos or most boost! I mean if you can't go on a diet why not bulk up. Be like Brock..

I think it would have to be custom made.
