Heavy Spare Tire
No, not on me but in the trunk of the IS F. On Saturday I pulled the spare tire out of the trunk and realized that it's fairly heavy, probably 40-45 lbs. Then I took out the tool kit and the jack which, combined, probably weigh at least 10 lbs. That is a savings of some 50 lbs or so. I drove the car and it felt a little quicker with that weight gone. Of course this could have been wishful thinking on my part. Just wondering: Do any of you drive without the spare to save weight? I put everything back in the trunk as with my luck I'd get a flat.
its all cosmetic

I thought the euroteck one was wind tunnel tested and fully functional, hence the ridiculous selling price

i cut a piece of thin veneer and wrap it in black cloth. looks OEM and is 10x stronger. a couple strong styrofoam blocks in the middle works well as weight support.

As a daily driver, I would leave the spare tire and tools in the trunk. You will regret not having them when you get a flat. If you track/drag your car, then remove all the items and you will save about 50 pounds.
Or as tenspeed stated, just always run a quarter tank of gas and you will save 100 pounds!

i am begging ET to release some other stuff but its a tough economy
hints of a cf roof replacement a la another car....
On my 350, I saw a more noticeable difference when unsprung weight was removed via the wheels, but even then, I don't believe it was consistently measurable, by itself (and certainly not on the street).
So yes, the spare stays on board.
