Can someone tell my how I can get a key without going to the dealership which wants 300.00 for a new key.

no, several years ago i bought a new master key with the internals for like $118 cut and shipped from sewell. i think that was 5 years ago though so im sure the price has gone up, i just had to program it myself which i did with instructions i found on here

Now to get a key with the transponder is like 220 plus the programming i think..

 

You can buy an aftermarket key off ebay then just bring it to the dealer. I did that for a 2008 rx350, bought the key for $60 bucks, then my dealership cut and programmed it for $35. GS keys are on ebay for $75, they just dont have a lexus emblem on the front, not a bad thing if is your spare key.

If you just broke the casing, they have them on ebay. I broke mine because the locks were frozen. You just have to switch everything over.

 

I got one from a store at our local mall for $135. I found them through a craigslist search . It was call tropical something and it took about 30 min for a new master key while I waited.

does anyone know how much dealer charge to program the key ?
im thinking buying it from sewell and have local dealer program it
