Is there any aftermarket interiors compatibile with the side airbag front seats ?

 

What are you trying to do? Seats only or the WHOLE interior (pillars, carpets, headliners, etc...)? If you're doing the whole interior then everything is customized so yes you can, if you have a deep pockets. I don't think they have one "ready made" other than seats. Or you can do what this other member did and use dye.. Its cheaper.. Dunno if it'll work on carpet type fabrics but it worked on his seat covers. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

 

I want to covert my black cloth seats to red leather. I thought I read somewhere that there was a problem with respect to side airbags and say a leatherseat.com interior

 

Wait.. What year is your car?

 

Doesn't matter all 2nd gen GS have side airbags in the front seats, regardless of model year. 2001+ do have curtain bags.

 

I'm trying to find out what years have cloth seats. If I remember, the 2gs have leather seats unless certains years came with cloth seats. I know all 2gs have side airbags. As far as the seats, my buddy got the clazzio seat covers and he didn't have any problems. If you get one that wraps over your seat button controls to the bottom then yes, I would think that you would have a problem, but clazzio makes one specifically to the 2gs seats. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

 

Shouldn't be a problem. Aftermarket leather seats should be sewn with break-away seems at the airbag locations. Verify this with your vendor.

As for the other panels, wrap then however you like, as I'm pretty sure the airbags blow out the side of the panels, not thru them like the steering wheel.
