Default Ventilated Seats: worth it or not?

I wanted to ask all the members if the ventilated seats are worth getting. I have chance to get an 2008 IS 250AWD with no ventilated seats but I want to know if I should wait for ventilated seats. Thanks in advance.

IMHO, the ventilated seats are worthless, but if you're in a winter town, the heated seat component is definitely worth it . . .

vented isnt much for the feeling of the air coming through but in 115 degree weather it cools down the leather seats very well

I like them - but perhaps more important is that the non-vent seats don't have the perforations which makes the leather look not quite as sporty. (At least in the 07's)

I love the vented seats! But I'm also in AZ. My old Celica didn't have vented seats and it burned like CRAZY and now with the vented seats it is much cooler when I get in the car even without using the sunshade all day.

I'm in complete agreement with socalJD; heated seats are great, but the vented seats are so ineffective it isn't worth the effort to turn them on.

This summer was cold for us. 1 100 degree day (usually 5+ and like 5 90+ days (usually 20). I used them once this year so I would say no...

You can feel them with lite shorts on, but not that great.

The only thing that makes it worth it is the look of the perforated leather.

wow, hubby and I LOVE the vent. seats. It is the #1 reason he'll probably get another Lexus when he trades in his car. We notice a big difference - they feel sooooo good when you get into a baking car.

He was researching cars today to find out what other makers make them - I've posted here about it as well - and unless he goes WAY up in size (which we are trying to avoid) it'll be a Lexus. It's seriously the selling point for him.

so if you were asking him, he'd say to definitely wait for the seats. he loves them. Me...I like them. But it wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me.

I used to think the vented seats were worthless, but after driving around here in the Phoenix heat with them off and then turning them on I realize that they do make a world of difference and I am glad to have them.

I most definitely agree; I wish I could havegotten them in my GS. I had them in my Saab 9-5, granted I had cooled seats, but it still helped a lot especially for the back passengers. Their seats weren't cooled.
