Platinum Edition Specs
I have a 2000 GS 400 Platinum Edition. I was recently told by a friend that in addition to the birds-eye maple word and the perforated leather seats, the steering wheel is also covered with perforated leather. My steering wheel is a regular wheel.
Can anyone confirm whether the platinum edition cars do come with a perforated leather steering wheel? If so, do you think Lexus Customer Service will replace my current wheel with the one that should have came with the car?

They don't come with a perforated steering wheel. I have a 2000 Platinum edition also and it's just a regular wheel. I am not sure if it may have been a upgrade that could have been done at the dealer. I bought my car CPO and I assume they wouldn't change the steering wheel.

My mother has a 2000 GS300 Platinum edition....NO perforated leather steering wheel....just the seats.
I got a 2001 GS300 (not platinum)....it has partial perforated leather on the steering wheel.

My '00 GS3 Plat. has perforated sections on the steering wheel too. Kinda strange that some have it and some don't. Could it be that some Platinums came from factory as platinum and some were done by dealers?

How many GS400's were made? I thought this was just a GS300 run, I stand corrected as I just found a guy on autotrader.com selling a 2000 GS400 Platinum.

No Perf
I have a 2000 GS400 Plat ed from the factory with no perf on the steering wheel.
Lexus may have tried perf on the steering wheel and something may have not worked out in the process and they just decided to stop doing it on the fly. This happens a lot.
That's my guess.
