Ok so if the sensor that senses door open/closed isnt working the courtesy light woulnt turn on right?

All the courtesy lights DO turn on with their respective doors are open.

OK so wtf....

I dont think its the door ecu because all the locks work and the windows work.

The only things that dont work is the Front passenger door courtesy light, and the car thinks the doors are open.

Yea that's one of the first things I tried. No effect its gotta be something shorted out in the door panel, or the.courtesy light would work ? Right ?

No I didn't remove the door panel.

The courtesy light worked before, then while installing the bulb in the socket I accidentally bent the contacts within the socket ( passenger door) with the bulb while pushing in between the connections. So I straightened out the barbs and it wont work with any bulb now. so I'm thinking that fried the socket and whatever that is connected to.

I expected to find a blown fuse somewhere, but I cannot.

So maybe that courtesy light socket is wired into the door sensor and where both fried?

All other functions work. All the other door lights work as expected. All the map lights and dome lights also work.

Not sure if you can remove the light housing without removing the panel but you if you can disconnect the plug and check the voltage. Or check the voltage at the bent prongs. see if there is any. check the resistance to see if there is a short. (without bulb plugged in or power going to it)

Yea I guess I have to decide whether I want to go buy a multi meter and trouble shoot myself or pay someone to do it. A Toyota dealer in my area wants 130... Lol turn out to be expensive LEDs !

Lol that's true, I guess it should be to hard to figure out since I have the shop manual on my computer. Taking the door panel off and testing the door ecu and lock sensor would be a good place to start ?
