I have placed this exact "issue" in 2 so called member help treads but have not received any information ( +/- ) at all. can anyone shed some light on it? Here it is:
"98 Gs400 with 2jzgte swap, Airbag light came on, went off and then came on again. Now on constantly, want to take it to the dealer but not sure if there is a separate scanner for the SRS system?" Thanks

 

I have the GTE swap and I've never had this problem it might be you airbag sensors might want to checked those out.

 

Well we are figuring that is the problem, but to take it to the dealer to get it checked to see if it is the sensors or the module itself, will the scanner not read in Japanese?

 

If your using a USDM computer i don't think it would be a problem... To be honest i would recommend taking your car in to any dealer why? once they see that you have tampered with your engine let alone your computer most dealer wont touch your car and if they do they will charge you a lot of $$$

 

I think I should pony up and buy my own scanner.......

 

I would take it to a performance shop instead of a dealer. Your in Florida so there are a ton of good shops down there.
