Question about headlight compatibility.. is it the same design 98 through 05 or was there a chance at some point?

98-00 are chromed in 2001-05 the headlight units got a green tint added. Most prefer the 98-00 none tinted look but it's not that drastic unless you see the two side by side...

 

No change as far as mounting and fit. The only change was the green tint on the 01+ models IIRC. The Sport Design headlights will fit any 2GS as well.

 

So a dumb question Im sure but....

I have 2003 SD and i want to do a retro and my headlights are just ehhh I want new ones. Can I buy non hid housings and put the auto leveling motors on them? Soory if its noob. If I cant I was just going to buy new lights to use the fresh lenses on my exisiting lighting.

 

The bowls are not the same. There will be a lot of glare when putting hids in non-hid housings.

 

How much would an HID equipped unit go for? All bulbs are in and the ballast is there too..

via Sewell you'll be paying $547.62 with CL discount. Green tint is not on the plastic lense so you can get rid of the green by painting the chrome when you crack the lights open.
