i should be getting in my wheels by this week and at times will be having to park my car on the street at times so to be better safe then sorry i was wondering what are the best type of wheel locks to put on my wheels to at least make it harder beeing if they really want it they take it just want to make it as hard as i can for them to... so plz guy some feed back and specific type brand of wheel locks do you think i should get ??? i love in nyc if your wondering ..
I have the McGuard SplineDrives with the lock lug going on 4 years now.
I'm not knocking your decision, but those look easier to remove than regular lexus wheel locks. Because of those raised splines and depending on how recessed the lug nuts are in the wheel, it looks super east to get a vise grip to lock onto it, or use a hammer/chisel and tap it on one of the splines, or get a 12 point socket and it will lock into the grooves.
The only reason I say this is because I bought an es300 that had a flat tire but the car didn't come with the wheel lock key. It took me less than 2 minutes to remove the wheel lock. I was actually disappointed at the fact that it took such little effort to remove it.
Bottom line is if someone wants your wheels bad enough, they will get your wheels.
The best idea seems to be to have a different wheel lock on each stud, but how pratical and cost effective is that... then you need to hide 5 wheel lock keys in the car just in case you get a flat.

Agreed! However, my decision for these wheel locs were such because they are very recessed into the (holes) wheels; if they stuck out a little this may not have been my wheel lock of choice. BTW, the splines on these locks are not pronounced enough to use a chisel or something else to grip...they are very rounded.
