Most likely No because it's near the sidewall. A legit place wouldn't even bother patching it for you but instead recommending you getting new tires instead.

General consensus should be no. If you MUST repair the tire I would use a patch plug combo.

What about patching it from the inside?

maybe you can get road hazard warranty on it maybe get a new tire of the same for like $50 bucks or something Its worth the try, ask the seller where he got them and if he'll take them in (if warranty isn't transferable)

Yes, it patchable. Over time it may develop leak. Try to patch it. In a few day if the pressure does not drop, then it is good.

No that tire is not repairable. Besides the fact that it's bald were the puncture is, that is were the steel belting meets the sidewall. It will most likely bubble on the sidewall if you try to repair it with a plug patch combo the right way. If you have to use that tire patch it from the inside only. You should throw it out though.

Bingo! we would never patch that at the tire shop I work at. Anyone who says this can be patched and is good to go either does not know what they are talking about or care enough for your own personal being. As lexo98 said there are several reasons why it should not be repaired. First of all its too close to the sidewall where a lot of the steel belt reinforcement comes from. Second, the camber wear is so bad the shoulder has been reduced to nothing left. And third, even if you did try to patch it with the plug shown by Debonair it would not work because that type of patch requires a flat area to work with and patching it by the shoulder would cause it to be curved and may not hold or adhere properly.

i do notice that when i run my fingers across the sidewall, the part where the puncture is, the wall is softer than the rest and it kind of curves inwards, just a bit. so i guess if i fix it and pump air into it, a bubble will form on the sidewall where that puncture is, correct?

in order to plug it the hole will need to be drilled to clean out the steel belts. It will probably bubble going down the sidewall. I'd toss it and look for another tire. If you have to mickey mouse it have it patched only. It's hard to get a patch to stick there though

so I take my idea was worthless? The tire is practically new, you should be able to trade the tire in for a new one at a much discounted price...
