Default 5 speed MT conversion?

Anybody ever do a 5 speed conversion? I know there are a couple running V160's with the GTE swap.

But what about the GE?

I know that some IS300's come MT, and I know that users like adamgamz (iirc that's spelled correctly) used a few parts from the IS.

I know some SC's come 5 speed as well.

Me thinks all it takes is a little creativity..and money...and you can get what you want.

So..what would it take to do it? ECU, Trans, Clutch assembly, Custom driveshaft? Clutch, Pressure Plate, Flywheel, MT flywheel bolts, throwout bearing? Throttle cable? Or could you keep the Drivebywire?

I've been mulling this over...don't like the Auto trans, never have like auto transmissions, and if I could convert to 5 speed, that'd be AWESOME!

I'm doing the r154 5 speed swap on my GTE and I'm using a mix of IS, SC and MKIV supra parts. I'll make a parts list once I am done with the whole thing.

It is from a variety of toyotas. most commonly found in the MKIII supra and soarers. The r154 from the soarer is the one that we have to use in the GS because of the extended shifter housing. you can use the 154 from the supra you will just need a 1jz bellhousing and extend the shifter. that is the cheaper way to do it as a soarer 154 can cost between $800-$1200 because of its rareness.

W58 is from the SC right? Or MK3 supra? Or rather an MKIV supra?

I'm looking for the transmission...I have a theory, that if you can put the motor in the same cars, you can put the transmission and driveshaft in the same cars...I'm just wondering what I'll have to mix and match. If I can find out the 'correct' transmission, it'll be easier to narrow down the search, then start collecting parts...eheheh
