Unhappy Check engine light. Help!

Hey guys so on the way to the gym when i was backing into a spot my check engine light turned on. I pop the hood everything seems fine no wires disconnected and no leaks. What do you think it is? The car has 87k miles and i just got it two days ago Is this something i should be worried about? Any help would be appreciated. Worst case i have to take it to the stealer... Thanks alot guys i know its not alot of info but suggestions could help!

Go to an autozone to get the code read for free and post back what they find.

Yup, get the code. The P044x numbers have been quite popular involving the charcoal canister...

First go to autozone for the free scan, Than go to lexus.com and go to "owners" in the bottom left screen. Type in your VIN# and any work from a Lexus dealer will be on there.. Hope the seller didn't rig something up just to sell the car .... Little things like this is frustrating i know

Could be something as simple as needing an oil change.

Not sure if the CEL turns on when it's time to change the oil - someone can correct me.

I would have to say negative. I would think oil light would go on...

I'm going to say it's an o2 sensor... Bank 1, Sensor 2 (heater circuit).

and do you pump your gas with the engine running? If you do, it creates something like a vacuum. Try removing the gas cap with the engine off and then put it back on. That may be the cause of the CEL.

You should call around diff. autozones...it probably is a store to store thing. My local autozone here scans. Give different ones a call, and go to the one that does. GL
