Question about tail lights...
I searched this and there were too many misc. tail light threads. Would 01-05 OEM tails make the light out indicator go on in a 98-00? Also, is there a difference between 98-00 inners and 01-05's?
You have two options. Either you can buy the harness to make it work or there is a write up about how to make it work somewhere on here. (Something along the lines of connecting two wires)
have a link on a write up? i would like to know if possible.. i can't find it anywhere >.>
Nope, you just need a converter for the reverse light and you're good. OR do what i did... Look for a old car and cut off the signal lights and use that as reverse light.
As for the inner's it should not trigger anything.

all you need to buy is a load resistor and that will take care of the problem.
EDIT: oops... I was reading too many topics at once, thought he was talking about LED's

You don't need a resistor at all for the 01-05 tails. The bulbs are identical so the car can't tell a difference. Your light will only turn on if your bulbs are burned out or you have certain LED taillights.

Years ago...I bought a set for a buddy who wanted to upgrade as your buddy is doing now. The tails came with bulbs and harness included. Did your buddy buy the 01+ tails with the harness? I'd check the box before searching for harness'.
When I bought my 01+ tails, I made sure they came with new harnesses.
