Default 92 1Ls tail lights not working

Hey guys I looked around for this problem and all I can find is people having problems with the tail lamp failure light. I just changed all the bulbs 3rd break light and the 2 corner tails that were out. The 3rd break lights work now but the corners still do not come on! They do run constantly when I turn the head lights on but when I hit the breaks nothing... Anyone know what it could be?

take a close look at the sockets. One of mine failed because the contact points melted down some so it was loosing contact. I replaced the harness.

Its very easy. Price not sure was less than 100. Check sewell website. You can look around a junk yard. Think took me 30 mins to complete job.

Blub socket on my brake light had melted and was not making contact anymore so I directly sodered a small piece of wire to the bulb and then joined it with the main wire.

Bit more work next time bulb goes out.

Bali: I think I'd rather just replace the harness then solder a piece of wire.

Jonnhy: that's for the help man I will look into the new harness

1st gen LSs are known for brittle wiring harness breaking at the trunk hinge on the driver's side. constant open and close of the trunk lid over time creates this problem. take a look at that harness and check for broken wire(s).

no need to check the whole thing, trust us, the broken wire or wires will be inside the driver's side trunk hinge, in the curve of it, in a large bundle

I remember reading about that a while ago. Last time I checked it which was a few years ago it was still good. I'll check it out but if it was those wires wouldn't be more then just the corner tails not working?

those wires power the lights on the truck lid itself (i.e. the backup lights, and plate number lights) however if there is a short, it may affect all lights.

Yea I'd assume if it was that part of the harness it would effect all lights on the trunk side. Only the corner tails don't come on when I use the breaks. The trunk tails and 3rd break lights come on when breaks are applied
