hi.... i'm new to the toyota as i'm a honda person...i just got me a 98 gs b/b,
there a couple thing wrong with the car and i would like to get some of your help..... i know its cost more money to modify the GS then my integra, but i know what i'm going to go through as i want a new project and soemthing diff.

too many honda out there...lolz....

n e ways..... the guy told me there no ac and the shifter will not shift unless you manual unlock then put it in drive or to put back in park... hope u know what i'm talking about.
i wasnt sure if its the neutal saftey switch or the solinoid of the shifting assembly. i try to goggle it and cant find anything...i called the dealer about it and they told me to best bring it in to connect to a machine and it will tell me whats the problem...rather then guessin or buying the wrong part... both part is about 300 dollars... now for teh ac... he say when he try to charge it.. it wont take it... so unsure of the compressor is bad or so. it blow hot air. i'm going to do some testing on it.....

any of you have any idea or opinion.. please let me know... i try to save some money b4 going to the dealers.....

my plans for this car is to do the 2jzgte swap, and convert it to manual...will post picture soon.... i'm in the process of working on my friend sc300 boosting.

also my car have 159,000 miles.... thanks to everyone..

hey thanks asgs300, for responing....i tot this site will be lots of helps....i guess not many people have the problem i'm having now....i will figure it out, i thought it be easier to get help....

n e ways.. one more problem i have i dontkno if i mention it or not but when i reach at 60mph, my steering wheel shake, butonce it hit 70mph, its stop and drive smooth....any idea? i figure will can be unbalance, but it got to be something....i will use my friend wheels to see any diff. going to change ball joint, and tie rod when i'm lowering it...

hope soemone out there will give me the opinion about the shifter problem

 

Check the fuses under the drivers side for the shifter interlock. There is one that controls that. Even if it looks fine, swap it out. There probably won't be a specific fuse ( in the lexus owner's manual) but just try it out one by one. I had the same issue with my 98 gs400 and found out it was the fuse, Work's perfect now. A/c might be a bad evaporator, bad drier, compressor or expansion valve. Go to an a/c shop and let them diagnose it. Good luck and welcome.

 

correction the gs300's are the new honda's i like to think the gs430's are still like the REAL integra type-R's

the shifter sometime work and dont.. but usually it dont work..... i will check the fuse... but there time i can put it in gear then it wont........will update infor soon.....thankz

 

What are the gs400's the new rsx type S

 

Check the brake switches on the brake pedal assembly.
