Default Side mirror compatibility????

I was wondering what timeline of side mirrors should I look for if I want to replace my passenger side mirror, which was recently hit. Most of the side mirror was damaged so I am obviously looking to replace the whole side mirror. Basically, I'm wondering if it's ok for me to get a '95 side mirror? Thanks guys for any help you can provide.

Welcome I'm pretty sure a 95 mirror would not work. The mirrors are slightly different between 98-00 and 01-05 so you need to find one matching whichever range your car is from.

If you've got a 98-00 and you're glass and motor is ok it might be a good opportunity to upgrade to LED blinker mirror covers with puddle lights, $220 painted and shipped from Nigel, one of our vendors. Check the vendor section of the classifieds if you're interested in these. They look great and it's an amazing price, got me half-tempted to spend money I shouldn't on them! They don't fit 01-05's though.

98-00 vs. 01-05 side mirror assembly is slightly different in housing style, motor, etc...thus, you cannot take parts from a 01-05 mirror assembly to fit with your 99 mirror assembly....and vice versa.

If you want to match exactly with your 99 driver-side...then buy an entire 98-00 pass assembly.

If you dont care about matching exactly your 99 driver side....you can buy an entire 01-05 pass assembly. It WILL fit. The plugs and prongs are the same. ALL functions will work as normal...no splicing of wires at all.

Thanks you two. All I can say is that those nigel mirrors look incredible. I'm kind of a noob to the car world so I wondering how I could verify if I my mirror motor is still functional. I know that one set of the wires came undone during the incident and that the mirror doesn't respond to me using the switch, but I can hear the motor, I just don't see movement. Is there anything else I should do to look at this. And it says 299 now for the parts, did nigel increase his price. Either way, they look incredible.

That is right.

OP, I'm not sure how to verify for sure whether the internals are ok, are you able to get at the wiring harness that came unplugged and hook it back up? That's probably the only way to really know whether it's gonna work.

If you go that route, send Nigel a Private Message or post in his thread to find out what you need to do to get that price, I'm assuming it's still available since the thread advertising it is still active.

Well we just glued the mirror back on just for now so I don't have access to the wires. But if I go this route, I'm probably going to have to verify whether or not the motor is still ok. Right now I think I'm going to start by looking for a side mirror in a junk yard. If that doesn't work then I'll probably highly consider the Nigels.

Is there any way to swap 01 mirrors with a 99's and then do the conversion?
