Default TRD Japan vs TRD USA

Hi! I have been searching on the net about the replacement air filter. I notice that the TRD Japan and TRD USA are different. TRD Japan Air filter is Black w/ red bracket. TRD USA uses a light orange/red housing w/ light orange filter material. Any1 tried both air filter before? What are the result? How long does the TRD Japan air filter last(as they are not washable)?

Thanks in advance

Why don't you just go with a K&N air filter, it has the best warranty out there

I am have K&N in my mom's odyssey, I found out that the intake pipe will have a layer of oil on the inside wall. I was searching on the TRD USA site and I found the filter, and wondering if it will be better. Also, my friend works at toyota and he can get me trd parts cheap, but I dunno how cheap though!

Let say itz $15 more for the TRD usa filter compare to the K&N filter, which one wi=ould you choose??

i wouldn't use the k&n because of the oil that they used can build up in our maf and can cause it to fail in the future... thats why i run only oil free filters....

I had a K&n and had the MAF sensor problem.
The car starting shifting bad and Lexus could not find out what the problem was. They even thought my trans was going bad. It turns out the K&N let so much dirt in the MAF sensor was so dirty it was sending wrong info to the computer making the car shift funny. We tried to clean it but it was so dirty it had to be replaced.
That was money I had to spend because of a stupid after market air filter.
I would suggest stay with OEM.
You do not need the 1 extra H.P the air filter will give you.
And for people who say you will get 5 H.P. that is B.S.

Years ago when I first started using K&N filters I did over oil the filter. One year at SEMA I asked the guys at the K&N booth how to oil the filter, and I has told that you use a small amount of oil. the rest will "bleed".

So you do a small circle if its a flat filter, if its a cone type you do a band around the filter. By doing this the oil will "bleed" into the rest of the filter. This way you don't over oil the filter and run into problems with a MAF.

Remember a little goes a long way!

i would never clean a air filter... i would just buy a new one... they don't cost that much... why clean it.... if anything i'll clean it and sell it to someone that doesn't want to pay full price for a filter.... which they're people out there that will.....
just my $0.02
