you may notice some slight difference. All ECT PWR does is adjust the shift points higher in the rev range. That being said, you will be more likely to see max HP and Torque before a gear change if you're in PWR mode, since the trans waits a bit longer to shift.

It doesn't really do much. the only time i'd turn it on is on the track and the dyno

I have noticed that if the pwr button is on....and you floor it..it shifts at/about at red line...but it does the same thing if you floor it w/out it on...so I dont really bother with it.

ECT = electronic controlled transmission . it locks the torque converter up earlier. with out it on it slips the converter more for better gas millage.

If you want to try to feel it get cruising at 45-55 mph and after a while with it off hit the button you will feel it lock or hear the difference in tone of motor.

Might want to check your resources on that one.....A torque converter is a mechanical device and can't be changed to a different setting by simply clicking a button. It does not lock it up earlier....lol

ECT PWR button simply changes the shift points.......that is all folks

+1 i was just about to say that. The ECT function strictly controls the TCM or trans control module...i.e. where the trans shifts in the rev range.

i think you pulled that torque converter thing outta your *** to be honest...

/\ I remember reading a Toyota article similar to that a while ago but did not remember enough to chime in on it. Good info.

I also need to add that "Curious" is the worst thread title ever.
