Default Checking 0-60 time?

I wanted to see how good my baby was running today. I have a 98 gs 400 with 168,000 miles on it. all stock. here is how i checked it. i put in power turned vsc off and right when i floored it with it in D i started stop watch and when I got to 60 on speedo i stoped it. I got 6.64. That seems slow. Is this right or not a good way to check it and if right how can I improve that. I thought about manual shifting or torgue braking it, but i think if I tourque brake it with it being 40 degrees out side im going to hurt it more by spinning. It just squeeled and took off the way i did it.

try turning power off.

6.64 sounds about right unless you've recently changed spark plugs, fluids and all.

If a stock gs is rated at 5.7 to 5.9 how in the world is 6.64 right?

well, most likely magazine brake torqued, but since it's too cold, well, nothing you can really do... go blame global warming....

I meant that it sounds about right UNLESS you've done all that.

And have a fresh set of tires. Remember, no traction, no speed.

i have changed all fluids, but still need to do plugs. i may try torgue braking it and starting in low 1. seems so much stronger when you start in low 1 and shift manually. tires only have 5000 miles on them.

Do your plugs, then try it.

IMHO there is absolutely no way that you can drive, look at the road, the speedometer and a stop a watch at the same time. Get some one else to time you so that you can make some accurate measurements.

yes but like most apps for my and others iphones its GAY and all the reviews on it (well alot) say its inaccurate. plus its not worth the 12.99 bucks they want for it. its called dynolicious for those like me with a iPhone who wanna look at it!

i didnt have a problem. wide open 3 lane road and night with no one on it. car goes straight. i beleive its propably inacurate just being the clock shouldnt start untill the car actually moves not when i push gas. so that could be why its so high?
