Unhappy Reset Navigation?

I just upgraded my navigation to v7.1 copy DVD. First it gave me an error reading disk then installed.

Differences when starting the car, took 10 secs to start after 1 press "I agree" instead of 3 secs before.

Everything ran fine except something some areas turns white after 10 minutes of driving and the whole screen turned white. I could see the circle and the arrow flashes, and I tap on the screen it says 0.3 miles, 0.6 miles..... from the arrow circle. I can stop at a rest stop turn my engine off and on again to reset.

I pressed Destination, and select region. It frozen on Destination screen, every button is not pressable except next. I restart my engine inorder to reset again.

Is that the new V7.1 has too many data, my gps computer couldn't handle or I need to reset something? Can I turn back to V1(2000)?

I reset the ECU yesterday night by removed the battery for more than 1/2 hour while I was changing my belt, but the Marked and Home address was still existed. I believe the white display only occurred when I go to some place I didnt go yet. I drove for 40 minutes and no problem. Maybe solved!

Still have some glitches; POI takes long time to load sometimes, sometimes when I start my car it takes like 10 to 30 secs to load the after I press I agree.

Can I go back to original version?

It works occassionally most of the time. Sometimes no problems, sometimes said no disk, sometimes "disk error-check with dealer". I have to pull out of the highway to restart my car to get the navigation back, but someimes it return to normal from a white screen. If I knew it was like this, I will not upgrade to newer version.

You obviously made a bad ahem... cough copy cough. Get rid of it before it messes up your Navi ECU, then it wouldn't be so cheap to fix.

You cant go back to the V1... but you can go back to any other version after V1. I have an OEM 3.1 or 4.1 disk IF your interested($30).

But WHATEVER you do, take that DVD out before it causes some serious damage.

Yah, the cough..cough.. never works 100% correctly imho. The dual layer disk has hidden files from factory. Pony up for a new one, unfortunately.

My navi looks a little different then that, but I've never seen the POI blacked out like that.

I hope it wasn't due to an improper upgrade that was resulted from upgrading from your original 2000 disk. Because once you upgrade from that version, you cannot go back. However, one way around that is to reset the system all together. I will look for the instructions as i have seen the posted before on how to open the unit and reset it. Lets not jump the gun, and leave this as a last resort however.

gen2 nav do not take burnt discs

gen3 and above do

if yours is gen3 and above, it means u made a bad copy
either a bad disc (crappy media), bad burner, or bad data files...

go with legits
its much safer

and no, you cannot revert back to 2000 disc
but you can revert back to 2002 and above usually
