My car is now so low that getting the Tanabe MT exhaust i wanted is just not practical. That thing would get trashed with the quickness. So I wanted to go with exhaust tips, BUT deleting the muffler, which would also provide more clearance in the rear. Has anyone done this with good results? And what are some good looking exhaust tips that would be long enough to fill in the gap where the muffler would have been?
So you want to run no mufflers? There was one set (custom) I've seen and heard before and it didn't sound the best. Do you have a 300 or 400? Either way, I would do at least an axle back if not cat back exhaust. You can probably go with a custom set up too if you need ground clearance. Maybe get some Borla of Magnaflows (a smaller muffler) and have a shop fabricate it for you.
John try performance muffler by ESoval.
Or if you just want straight piping done Sweenies it should be cheaper (Sepulveda) and Western I think??
Those are the 2 exhaust shops near by that do work for reasonable prices.
You should remove your stock mufflers, and polish them up so they're nice and shiny. Then get some angled cut tips welded onto your stock mufflers. You can scrape all you want and it'll be quiet.
no not that they drag while i'm driving, but i can't even get up my own drive way without scraping my exhaust.
