OEM balljoints are about 125 shipped from sewell lexus after discount code.

www.sewellpartsonline.com

You can DIY. There is a DIY thread somewhere in the forum. Most shop will charge 1.5 hours labor worth (~$120?).

Jack up the car, take off the wheels, and then lift up the rotor/hub assembly with at least 60lbs of upward force. If you are able to move the assembly up, then your balljoints are not in ideal condition. It should not move up, or even if it does, 0.9mm is the most it should move. A common symptom of worn balljoints is clicking/clunking when you go over a bump/dip or while you're turning.

Either way, I have always recommend replacing them anyways, simply because you dont know if you're buying a car with new or original balljoints. Many people have tried to hold out longer to save $125, but they end up paying $900+ for a new fender, balljoint, etc AND they risked their lives.
