Angry Headlight leveler is going out!

Hi all,

The driver side headlight leveler on our 99 GS is on its way out. The dealer quoted $500 for the repairs. Has anyone had this issue? Is it an easy fix?

Thanks,

I have noticed some slowness to the movement, when I start the car, but the indicator light on the dash is the most annoying thing so far. I'm not sure how long it will go until it breaks for good, but figured I'd do my homework now.

the actuator might be damaged, dude if your a do it yourself guy you can get an actuator for way less than 500 bucks, I can pm you the instructions from the Lex manuals. you can try to call a dealership and tell them your from a used car dealership nearby and get the part for a discount, and go pick it up, or try junk yards, its an easy fix, the hardest part is dropping your bumper those nuts are a biatch if you don't have a ratcheting box wrench (10 mm if I remember correctly) let me know. I would appreciate the post if you come across other motors.

I just lowered my car last night and headlight alignment was waaaaaay out of alignment. Just pop your hood, and you'll see a crown looking bezel right behind your outer headlights. Take a 6 or 8mm (I think) and twist it to up or down.
