Sorry about the vague title of this topic, but I didn't know how else to word it, lol.
I let my dude borrow my 2nd Gen GS430 this afternoon, and he let me hold his '02 Caddilac Deville. I noticed that after I turned his ignition off, the radio still played, and I could still control his windows until I opened the car door.
I've also noticed this feature in my mother's '99 Avalon, and even my baby sister's 3rd gen Camry!
Is there someway that this feature can be turned on?
you have window controls ... until the foor is opened ... no radio though ... good question but i am guessing no because someone would have mentioned this ;p
yeah I noticed that on my friends Tahoe also. For my 2002 gs430, for like a couple of minutes, the windows will stil work after my turn off the car as long as I dont open the door. After a little while, it wont though
The windows feature is cool cause I'll prop it slightly open on a hot day. But why would you need the radio to stay on if you are done driving and getting out?

I think it would be useful like for me, when I go to school I usually sit in my car for a bit listening to the radio or watching a movie or something. It would be good so that you don't have to leave your key in the ignition, you might forget or something.
The windows seem to work for maybe 15 seconds after turning the key back. I wish it was for at least a minute or two. A nice thing is being able to put the windows up with the door key-lock, by holding the key to the lock position.
thanks for all the replies ya'll. but i'm still curious why toyota cut the feature out. like i said before, i'm pretty sure my mom's and lil sis' cars have this feature. i can live without it tho, lol
