Default Simple Mod.....Gone Wrong!

I tried changed the interior lights/courtesey lights to green 12v LED's. I first do the driver side, splice into the door lights and install two LED's, everything is great! Now I do the lights in the footwell(sp?), once again, splice into the wires of the current lighting and removie the bulb, works great!

Move onto passenger side, do the footwell lights, perfecto! Then the passenger door....ahhhh trouble! I reomove the light enclosure and bulb, cut the wires and test the led on the wires, no power in those wires anymore! Also the door wont "close" acorrding to the computor. I can shut it and lock it, but only from the inside, the key doesnt work because not all doors are "closed". The open door light stays on on the dash. Everything was going great! Every door light except the front passenger side door has been changed to LED's. Now that door is acting all funky!!!! ALso when the key was in the ignition, and i tied to lock the doors from that door, all doors would lock then imeediatly unlock. WHen key was taken out of the ignition, all doors locked fine from the inside.

IM going to take apart the door panel and check the wiring. I found sc300/400 door panel removal driections, which i asumme should be very similar. I have pics of the new lghts, jsut gotta upload them. I hope you guys can throw out some suggestions!

Edit heres what the LED's look like:

Actually if someone could point me in the direction on how the GS recognizes if the door is open/closed that would be great. Is that mechanism located in the door, or on the car body itself?

its a fuse or door pin problem. check your fuse or check the door pin. both wires show 12v with a test light until the switch is activated. I had this problem when I tapped into the wires for my puddle lights

The door "open/closed" switch, or however you want to call it, is located inside of the door lock actuator assembly.

cool im checking those out as we speak. If a fuse was blown, would all the power to the door be gone? THe window and power locks still work.

Edit the speakers work too, i find it strange that only those two wires that powered the bulb dont work. Wire colors are red/yellow and red/white.

You might of blown out the door ecu...or at least the locking portion. Or it could be something as simple as a malfunctioning closed door sensor. Try resetting the ECU to see if that helps by leaving the negative batt terminal off for 5-10mins. Our cars have so many computers that small quirks pop up sometimes, but most of the time can be fixed just by resetting.

Also, how come you had to splice the LED's? Most of the time they're just direct plug in.

Heh being the silly stupid kid i am...when looking for direct plug in led's i couldnt find any in green, until now, when im already splicing in rgualr 10mm leds...Just my luck. Icould reorder the direct plug in ones or i might as well just solder the ones i already have. Can i reset the door ecu? I reset the car ecu but still have the same problem. ill try again in the monring! Thanks for the help everyone.

Well, it's not just a door lock ecu. It's the Door ECU heh. Controls the window, lock, and light on that door. Try to see if you can find a way to keep the door close sensor to stay closed. Find the signal wire and just solder it together so the ecu thinks its always closed. That should solve your problems. The reason it keeps unlocking is because the car won't let you lock the doors if even one is open. Just to prevent from you locking yourself out.

But wait! If the ECU is recognizing the door as being opened why is there no power going to the couitesy light? The two wires for those lights come out of bundle three in the picture above
