hey everyone, i recently bought a 2000 GS400 series 2 l-tuned. Here in Arizona there has been alot of new development in the past 5 yrs. My question is about the navigation system; it is completely outdated (not even showing highways built 3yrs ago). Lexus is telling me that the GPS was on a hard drive through 2001, and that it cant be updated because they use DVD's in the new GPS systems. Is there any way i can get mine updated? Maybe the original manufacturer?

 

They used DVD's in the newer systems gen 2+... but you still have the hard drive based, first generation. That one was last updated 2004 if im not mistaken.

is the newer 2004 upgrade a big upgrade from the 2001? the previous owner installed the 2001 apparently but its still pretty outdated.

That's the latest one, the map data always lags the release, think that one came out early 2006
