Default Blown Mark Levinson Sub

I have an 02 Black GS430 with Nav/Mark Levinson.

I noticed my sub rattling about a couple of weeks ago, so i went to the trunk and checked it out. I noticed that it has begun to seperate from the cone.

Do you have any suggestions of whether or not the dealer can repair it, or how much they charge to replace it? Im out of warranty, so i don't want to get screwed.

Any other avenues i can go for replacements where i don't have to buy a seperate amp to power an aftermarket drop in sub? Are places like tweeter knowlegeble enough to work on the Mark Levinson system?

Thanks for all the help!

Any suggestions on the most cost effective way to do this, while keeping my factory stereo in place?

Okay, i think that i've decided to go with the JL 10IB4 free air sub, seeing that the dealer told me a few hours ago that the mark levinson sub cost's $301.00! I hear that the JL is a direct drop in replacement for the factory mark levinson sub.

Will this sub sound the same or better hooked up to the factory mark levinson amp? Any of you have this in your GS? And, can anyone give me some instructions on installation, accessing the subwoofer and such? Thanks so much!!

I may have to do the same as my ML sub has blown as well. Ditto on his question as well. Any help/input would be greatly appreciated.

Ebay usually have a few replacement ML subs. But I did place a free air sub for more bass, but it took away from the overall sound of the system, so I put the stock sub back. I have noticed that bass heavy music will tax the system as it was probably made for middle age men listening to Frank Sinatra and not Jay Z. LOL.
