Default First Post with Pics

Hi, I've been lurking for about a month and this is my first post. I was looking for a GS400 on this forum. I ended up finding an '02 GS430 locally with 106K. I just wanted to say thanks for all the info I got from you guys on this site. I got alot of stuff from recommended vendors. I got my 90K, 120K, pump, belts and brakes done at Hennessy Lexus the first week... no records after 23K in Lexus DB so I wasn't taking any chances. Bought a set of Potenzas from the Tire Rack through here. This weekend I got and installed the SRT Intake/ECU. I think I got the bug! I guess I might as well get the Borla to compliment. Compared to you guys, I think I'm about 10% done. Here are some pics...

Welcome to CL! You have a clean money pit ... i mean ride there! Once you've been bitten by the bug, your bank account is never the same again! Now it's time to get some nice wheels and suspension upgrades. Springs and struts were the best thing I've done to my car. May wanna consider the struts since you're over 100000 miles. BTW, I was in Lilburn Sat. helping my sister clean up after the storm early that morning. Hope you didn't get any of that bad weather.

Maintrain, yes, my bank account is angry at me. You know, I do hear a loud clunk every now and then from my suspension, and was wondering what it was. I did get some mildy bad weather. Not the kind I saw on the news though... that looked like a tornado came through. I hope your sister is okay!

That clunking sound may be ball joints. I replaced mine about a month ago. You can buy them from Sewell lexus (www.lexus-parts.com) for about $55 each with CL discount. Here is a good thread about some suggested suspension parts replacement that will restore most good ride quality. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=202158

Sister is ok. She lost a tree in the front yard though.

Car looks great man Sounds like bushings/ball joints may be your problem. Good Luck,

Jonny

Wow, thanks for your comments guys.

Maintrain, did you replace the ball joints yourself or do you have a local mechanic? I started reading through threads and a riped joint can cause alot of damage...scary. I'll probably jack up my car tonight to take a look/feel.

I went to a local mechanic. There is a great place in Roswell called Ozzi's Automotive on Holcomb Bridge Rd. He's quite a bit cheaper than the dealer and does great work. Other forum members have taken their cars to him and have had good expriences. He used to work @ Nalley about 9 years ago. You should check him out.
