I met up with the owner today and test drove it. The car felt awesome and the car looks great. Black on black combo sure looks great in person.
I spoke with my dad and uncle about it and they were okay with the car, until I told them it current has 124k miles They think the asking price ($13,500) is too high for that kind of mileage and year. Now my dad is on the verge of not letting me get the car.
I can't convince my dad that its a lexus and it'll last forever blah blah blah. To my dad, 124k miles for a 1999 is too much.
What do you guys think? How much would you guys pay?
It depends on the overall condition I bought my car in NOVEMBER of 2004 with 65k on it for 21K out the door so that sound fair to me. I no others will chime in to give there .02 worth to
The overall condition is pretty good. It's not mint, but it's not horrible either. I would rate it 8/10 for being 6-7 years old.
.Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it!
I think that's an average deal. I bought mine 3 months ago for $15,000. 1999 Mica Blue GS400 with everything except navigation. The vehicle only had 60k miles and 1 owner. Be patient and keep looking. I think a better deal could be found!
How about that deal? I like those rims more than the one in the first link. Asking price is $1k more than the original car, but it has 11k miles less. 1999 black on black
im located in Huntington Beach. The car I found was on Autotrader too, and the owner was from Newport Beach. He had all the services done at lexus, including the timing belt/water pump. Just dont rush your purchase, and keep looking. A good deal will pop up sooner or later, but be ready to buy quick!
Well I kinda need a car now. I've been carless for almost 5 months and it's very bad that I need to borrow other people's car. I get to school using my parent's car and they are left with nothing at home. Many times there were emergencies where a second could have have been very useful. BTW, is your car champagne? I think I might have seen that car in autotrader before.
Well, the guy I bought the car from was kinda stingy, however; I just bargained and haggled like no other. I started off the price at $14k, he said NO WAY. Then we went back and forth on offers, then we finally agreed on $15k. The car was in great shape besides a little scrape on the front bumper. He had the 60k service done as well as the timing belt/water pump etc. New tires, and it had immaculate interior.
If you are in a rush to buy a car, it might be too hard to find a good one, because every car you see " is the one for you", in your EYES . Keep looking man, and make a check list on what to look for when you are looking at the car.
i just checked out the black one ($14.5k) and its not that great. Front right tire is worn and it needs alignment (audible noise when driving). For some reason, it didn't feel as quick as the GS400 with 124k miles.
The only color i want is black, unless there is a hell of a deal somewhere else. I'm gonna try to get the other car down to about $12.0k. Seems fair?
