yes.... but dont do it

What I did was get 2 L shaped brackets and drill them underneath the front bumper middle section and then screwed the Licnese plate to that........... that way no visible holes

your factory brackets require that you drill holes into your bumpers. once done, you can't reverse it..i would try to modify some l-brackets so you dont have to drill into the bumper.

Were you cited or otherwise told by law enforcement that you had to have a front plate? The reason I ask is my car is a 2001. It has spent most of it's life in Washington State. As far as I can tell, it's never had a front plate on it, and until I am told I HAVE to get one, I won't put one on.
My 1965 Shelby gets driven less than 500 miles per year. It has the racing apron (R-Model) on the front that has no provision for a front plate. I have been stopped twice and told I need to get a front plate. I always promise I will get one but somehow it always slips my mind. I guess the Lexus flies under the radar.

Just say NO! I'm getting my bumper holes fixed right now since the owner before my had a front plate. Personally I think it's nuts Lexus desinged it to be attached this way. I can just imagine paying $50k+ for a new GS and watching some dude take a drill to the front bumber!

Also as an aside I lived/drove in CA for about 17 years and never put on my front plate on any car I owned. Got nailed for it just once in all that time and had to pay $10. From then on I just threw it in my trunk and figured I would tell the cop it fell off. Maybe they are getting more strict now but I probably would leave it off personally.

Fixed. A by-product of the reorganized gallery.

Sorry the car is filthy. It's been to cold to get it washed. Bumper is getting repainted soon.
