my buddy got a 99 Gs400, with HID. Left side headlight kept shutting of on him. But the weird thing is if i turn off headlight and turn it back on again. it will turn back on. Also when i put the left signal ,foglight started to bling constandly.

 

Hmm sounds like maybe a problem with a relay?. was the car ever involved in an accident?. How does his left headlight shut of, does it go on for a few seconds and then go of or does it flicker and go of?.

Yea sounds like the ballast is going bad, but then why does your foglight blink, hmm weird stuff, but try getting a hold of another ballast, any kind that takes d2s/d2r and test it out.

 

yeah about the fog light and turn signal... maybe it's a main lighting harness plug issue? but i don't know where everything plugs in.

 

my aftermarket HID kit from xenondepot.com did the same thing- turns out the wiring from the ballast to the light bulb was loose. after i tightened it up - everything was fine and the lights stayed on.

never had a problem since.
