Default headlight swap question???

if i swap out my non-hid headlight (housing and all) to a hid bulb/ballast and housing, is it just plug and play?

I did this mod. It's not exactly a quick plug and play. First of all my mechanic took off the bumper because he said it would be really hard to get the lights out if the bumper stays. Just getting the bumper off took forever. I tried taking it off myself by raising the car a little, and couldn't do it because there a lot of hidden screws. Though my mechanic put it on a lift and got it done. The next thing is he had to splice the wires on the HID lights in order to get them to work. I mean it definetly could be done, but it's no picnic.

I also added the inner super white ligths to match the HID's and it looks great. I will post a pic so you can see.

Oh and lastly, make sure you balance the lights. Like put them against a garage door or something to see if they are even.

You will need a wire harness with relays for the ballast. I dont think taking off the bumper should be too difficult. If you check out BananaGS website he has some really detailed pics of where all the screws are. I think the wire harness will be the toughest part though

Im not sure where you can get a wire harness, I know you can have one made for you. I am using the one from my plug and play HID kit. PM TIGUY99 and maybe he can make one up for you

You DO NOT have to take the entire bumper off to do this mod. if fact I wouldnt recommend it at all. just do one side at a time. There are 2 10mm bolts that old the bumper tot he fender...remove those and pull. That will give you enough clearance to remove the hidden bolts for the headlights.

You WILL need a Harness in order to use the HID's. PM JOSHOOWA, He'll make you a perfect harness, top quality, for like 40 bux shipped.

Also, remember that you will need to ground each ballast seperately!
