Default HID & headlight question

I have a friend trading his GS300 in and they appraised the car already. We want to take the HID's and put them on my car. They are OEM HIDs the car came with them. I hope its a straight swap, I've never installed HIDs or swapped them from another car. Never had to

-How do I go about swapping the ballats etc?
-Is it pretty much plug and play?
-I HAVE to swap the headlight housings as well correct?

Thanks in advance!

I really don't think you should do that, but thats just me. On with your question about the swap...it can be done but i'm not really sure about the self leveling though. I believe that all oem Hid have that feature so that way it does not blind on coming traffic. It would be alot easier if you swap out the whole assemble then bulbs, and ballast. Or you could always order a kit from Xenondepot. They have awesome kits for a great price.

the self leveling wont work in your non-hid equipped GS. all you gotta do is buy a pair of 9006 MALE plugs from suvlights.com and splice them onto the two wires coming out of the oem ballasts (1 white and 1 red wire). then it will plug right up into your GS. i just did this too. its the first thing i did on my car.

well just cut the plug off the OEM hid car connect it to your car and take your plug and connect them to the OEM hid car... so you can put your headlights on and connect the bulb to the car...
