Pedal Position Sensor - question

Pedal Position Sensor - question
I had my car diagnosed at the dealer today (McDermott) and they determined that the cause of my VSC On/OFf and Check Engine Light problem is the Pedal Position Sensor. They said that the codes and diagnosis indicated that there is an "open circuit" in the Pedal Position Sensor.
FYI, this is a '99 GS 300 we're talking about with 45,000 miles.
They quoted me $371 to get the sensor and put it in.
Carson said the part is $69 shipped.
How easy is this for a regular shop to install on my car without any problems occuring?
How much would you expect the shop to charge?
Can anyone show me where this piece is located (supposed to be near the throttle body).
For some time now, I have had a lack of power issue, where the car runs really sluggishly to get from 10 -50mph and has major major trouble getting over 85 (it also takes forever to even get to 80-85).
FYI, so far I have changed the MAF and TPS sensors and problem still exists. Do you all think that the Pedal Position Sensor will fix my problem?
Anyone have any experience with this?

Yes that seems to be same problem I am having.
From what Jellybean said, it seems as though there just might be a thing called the pedal position sensor. AM I reading his post correctly?
