things you hate about GS
2: The infamous hesitation when you step on the gas.
1. Transmission fluid flush with Toyota T IV fluid.
2. Change ECT power mode to "power".
You would think that changing the ECT mode to power would change my gas mileage, but it has not noticeably changed it. I absolutely love the power mode. The car now drives and shifts as it should have all along.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the lack of lateral support and good thigh support in the driver's seat. This really becomes a problem once the handling is tightened up.
No pass through to the trunk

Loose change holder? Funny, mine has one next to the dimmer switch for the interior lights. Took me a week to find it
1) stock brakes suck
2) annoying hard to pinpoint rattles
3) stock handling
4) stock steering
5) vibration I CANNOT get rid of, that isn't always there either
6) condensing headlights that made me buy new ones

But I hate the change holder (has to one of the worst I've ever seen) and the dry cleaning hooks (might hold 2 shirts at best). I always have to use the leather handle piece and it's a pain getting a large set of clothes on hangers off of it.
Never felt the stock steering or suspension as mine came L-tuned.
The only other thing I hate is that my lease ends in December and I am going to have to get rid of the car. Of course I'll move onto something else, but I know I will really miss this car. So far it has been the best car I have ever owned or leased.
1) first and foremost - No manual tranny
2) steering shimmy - but it's hit or miss - could be flatspots from sitting too long or could be wheel balancing/alignment issue comes and goes.
3) radio reception - granted my tinted windows may have made it worse (cut antenna or something), but terrible nonetheless
4) stock mufflers too quiet for using the e-shift with windows closed - if you have 300 ponies under the hood - you wanna hear them sing
5) unmatched lighting between radio and Optitron gauges
6) Cassette player in radio instead of single disc or even better - Mini Disc.
7) stock suspension - height and softness - at least need a sport option (thank you L-Tuned)
That's probably all of my complaints.

1 - Steering wheel vibration after I hit a pothole. But the vibration isn't instantaneous. There's a lag. It feels like a 1 second lag. After both the front & rear wheels hit the pothole, the vibration comes.
Does anyone know the logic of not allowing the trunk to pass through to the rear seats? How am I going to fit my snowboards in the car???

Well here is my list.
1) No way to select 1st in E-Shift mode (for GS400s)
2) No ski pass through or folding rear seats. (Apparently we are to use our other vehicle to haul stuff).
3) I agree with the stock suspension problem.
4) Headlight condensation.
5) I dont have any rattles and I have 80k miles.. What are u guys doing? Off roading your cars?
6) Stock GEARING is way to tall.... 4th and 5th are too tall for my likes.. I really dont need to get to 150 I would rather get to 120-130 faster.
BTW.... our crapy stock brakes that people have mentioned before, managed to stopped the Motor Trend GS400 in 112 feet from 60 (1998 test). That is as good or better than the recent tests I have seen for the Ferarri 430 and 360 modena. I think that makes them pretty useful.. (however I agree they could be better).
