no i have OEM 16" alloys and i have seen NUMEROUS posts/threads bout this so i know im not the only one with this. if u review these pages of hates bout our car you'll find SEVERAL people mention the dread 60 mph or 80 mph shake. it seems to be semi common to our car.......

here's a pole on it.....so i KNOW its not just me

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ht=wheel+shake

look at post # 2,4,5,6 etc etc etc
the solution in post # 7 doesnt always work
if you dont have it your lucky but MOST of us seem to have it at sometime or another

Interesting thread. In one of the first few pages someone mentioned what a great car this is to have such (overall) insignificant shortcomings. Good point, IMO.

I came from two Camrys and a 4Runner before my GS, and looked at several other options before choosing my car. Overall I absolutely love it but only have a few issues:

1) I wish you could get to 1st gear in Eshift

2) Gearing on the 300...the engine revvs so high over 65mph that you burn mad gas on the highway. A 6th gear would have been a godsend.

3) Noisy Struts.

4) Maybe a little more flexibility with seating positions

Other than that, I really love everything about this car. Interior design and quality, exterior design, driving dynamics (though the 300SD is a little different from other 300s), smooth ride, bulletproof reliability, great features, well thought out, wonderful engine...etc. Very little to complain about. No vibration issues of any sort, ever.

Default Steering wheel Shimmy?

Hey guys, some of you mention that your steering wheel shimmys. Are you talking about the "rocking back and forth" of the steering wheel when you brake at around 60-65mph? This has been going on for a while and has gotten on my nerves! What could cause this problem?
Thanks for any replies.

My dislikes
1) Stock handling is poor
2)brakes kinda mushy but stops well
3)HID could be brighter (I had 01 celica with HID and it was much brighter)
Are you guys talking about the back and forth rocking of the steering wheel when braking at about 55-60mph?

Get your rotors resurfaced and your problem should be gone.

No kidding. I get a pinch in my back sometimes when i'm in the car for more then a hour or 2 and the seats never go back as far as I feel they should. When I get around to the seat part I have to redrill the mounting holes for the seat rails so I can get another inch of legroom.

You must be pretty damn tall, although I feel like our seat cushions are short on thigh support. Thanks again for the wheels TopHat.

I haven't found much to hate on my GS but I think my biggest complaint is that I was pretty disappointed by the factory HID's, the beam pattern and throw were less than I was hoping for. They should've used projectors, HID fogs help a little bit, it's good enough now that I can live with them.
