Default Headlight Fitment

I just needed some other confirmation that the OEM HID headlight housing is different from the non-HID halogen setup. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

the housings themselves are different, yes. but the brackets and outside shape they are all the same. so you can fit eithe rhousing on the GS no problem

So if my vehicle is factory HID equipped, can I use the non-HID housing without any major problems? I appreciate the help.

You can but you won't be able to maintain you HID setup. The non-HID housings do not have the spot below to put you ballast. The reflectors in the housing will also be different so the light pattern will not be as good. The bulb attachment will also be different since the two use different bulbs.

Since I have not heard of anyone going HID to non-HID, I am not even sure the wiring/connector is compatible. I know that to go non-HID to HID, some wiring needs to be spliced. I can only conclude that it would be the case here too.

like neo said. you can fit the non-hid housing on your car, but you won't be able to keep the hid stuff anymore. nothing fits, from the power connector to the ballast location to the bulbs fitment and mechanism.

i was ONLY referring the housing, nothing more

Thanks for the help guys. Someone sold me headlights saying they were HID housings and turns out they are non-HID. Just wanted to make sure before I send them back. Thanks again

Can anyone confirm this price? I always thought the headlight housings were around ~$1000.00 each retail.

The 1k+ is for the complete HID assembly: housing, bulb, and ballast. Still, the 250 is a good price for brand new from a dealer. Of course, used will be cheaper.

I paid $300.00 for the pair. They are the '02 (green tint) headlights.
