Default Advice removing giant sub from boot

Hi all,

Bought my first GS the other day and first order of business is figuring out how i'm going to get this giant sub out that the seller left in the car for me. Of course its impossible to lift out due to its size so I presume there is a way to remove it via the backseat area. I've watched some videos of people stripping the backseats and gotten pretty familiar with that process but it stops at the point where the seats are out and the metal shell is exposed with some black fabric laid over. Is there a removable panel that that will allow me to remove this? It seems unlikely that it was assembled piece by piece in the boot and the last owner has no clue. What is the best approach?

Any advice greatly appreciated, thank you!

Reminds me of the 93 Corolla I had in highschool. That was definitley assembled in the trunk. The opening between the trunk and cabin is quite a bit smaller than that box appears to be and if it was glued together than be ready to do some demolition.

Guess they weren't worried about flat tires..lol

That back seat brace is removable. IIRC 14mm bolts x 3.

Remove the screws and see if it comes apart...looking at the build quality its most likely not sealed. My $0.02.

Why remove it? Blast that thing!

Just kidding, I wouldn't want it there either. Maybe an upgrade for the OEM location. I agree with the electric saw option then have a vacuum ready for the saw dust.

There is less room on the otherside of the trunk. Start by pulling the sub to reduce weight, get a friend and try wiggling it out, it’s unlikely that it was built in the trunk, it just went in with gravity helping instead of fighting. If it’s really won’t fit back out then look for how it was assembled. Maybe you just need to get a screwdriver and start disassembling it.
