I am having issues with my door locks on my 2000 GS300, I dropped my car off at an upholstery shop yesterday to have my steering wheel redone.I get my car back today and both key fobs no longer unlock the doors nor does the trunk release on the fob work, I must do it manually which sets my car alarm off every time I unlock it.
I replaced the lock actuators about 1.5 years ago with generic copies so maybe they are starting to fail? I can lock and unlock the car normally using the door buttons if the key is in the ignition. Once I take the key out of the ignition, I can only lock it, trying to unlock using the door does nothing.
I would also like to mention that the driver’s door lock actuates twice when locking the car using the door while all of the other locks only actuate once. Should I just invest in an OEM lock actuator and replace it again? The part is pricey, so I am hesitant to just start throwing parts at it without knowing exactly what the issue is first.
Any help is appreciated, Thank you.
