I was using my valet key for about two weeks because the regular ignition key’s cover broke off. So after I put a new cover on I went to start the car with it and it would crank strong but not turn over. Valet key starts it no problem. Not sure why this would happen.

 

Did you replace this part of the key?

 

Yes I replaced that cover and nothing worked on it to begin with so I used the key to unlock and lock everything. So the key itself should start it
