Question lock module

hey guys,
on our rx300, the driver's door no longer locks with the key fob or with the power locks. i have to manually lock it with the key from outside or push the lock from inside. my cousin said something about this being a door lock module problem and that i needed to get a new one. is that right? has anyone had this problem? does anyone know where i can get this? and also how much does a new one costs? if it's too much, i guess i can always go to the junk yard and find one. warranty is expired so can't/don't-want-to go to dealership
thanks,
peter.

Petrie,

Just to confirm: none of the doors lock ro unlock with the remote - is that right? ...and the dors lock individually with the the individual door locks, but not with the button on the drivers inside door that locls/unlocks all the doors at once.

the only door that is affected is the driver's door. all the other doors lock with the power lock button on the driver's side door (the driver's door still does not lock, i have to manually lock it). whenever i lock the car from the outside using the actual key (not fob) all the doors lock. but whenever i use the fob to lock the car, all the door except the driver's door locks.
peter.

most likely the left front latch/actuator assembly, its a fairly common problem. I'd guess about $260 for the part and about the same for labor. Definately a dealer only item.

Not to be a smarta$$ but - how are you able to guess at a parts cost? Labor I can understand, but parts?

Your labor costs could range from $50-$80 an hour at most Lexus dealers from my experience.

Looking at this problem on two doors and stealer wanted $370. per door for the asembly as they don't sell the needed parts alone.
