new needles. Theres a couple of threads on this. You can either get new needles from lexus or I've been hearing about some thing about people sending their dash in for new LED and getting the needle replaced at the same time. Search around for it.

I sent my cluster to LexTech Lighting and they installed the 16 LED backlight and blood red needles. It really updates the look of the dash and is well worth doing.

You cant get the needles from lexus without spending the 1200bux on the whole instrument cluster last time I checked.
Lextech is who did my needles also.

my fuel gauge needle is now flickered out. this needle thing is sharp, but kinda overkill. there must be like 8 LED segments per needle. closely packed probably the heat is getting to them.

i am sourcing a cluster now to play with. with Porsche gauges we built LED diffuser lighting for the old school gauges. Works nice...so i want to see if there is an easier low $ solution to fix this problem.

So I was just on the lextech website looking at the needles and they state they're for 97 and below SC's. They stress sending your gauges in to be worked on but after a number of people reported being able to install the needles themselves without issues, Lextech posted on their forum that a number of people were able to do it at home. But I was about to order a set and read they're for SC's. Will those needles work on our GS? Has anyone tried? I know theyre were some other threads on this but I haven't been able to locate them

He does needles for GS's. I have them on my car. Personally I would recomend sending the cluster. But I did the backlighting at the same time...

I dont have to time to send it out. I absolutely need my car m-f with my 2 job schedule and only have one car. I do want the 16 backlight mod but it'll have to wait until something changes. I've read a few people had no problem doing it themselves so I'll give it a shot. Can't get worse then it is now.

I drove my car around w/o the cluster. nbd except the missing miles on the odo. but I do understand.

EDIT: having a cluster w/o needles on it and driving the car around wouldnt be a whole lot different than not having the cluster tho
