Default Just workin'....

I've just been working on the car some (oh, and my job, family, etc.). New front struts in, putting new rear rotors and pads next and painting the calipers while I'm there. Along the way I hope to sort out my air intake situation. I am at a crossroads over adapting a cone filter and fabbing a heat shield, or further moding the K&N drop-in filter w/airbox that I have, with a straight pipe (civic) set up and perhaps a cold air duct of some sort. You have all been very helpful in this regard! I gave up on the exhaust for now (Greddy MX just sounds too loud), just have some nice 3.5" SS tips on there to give it a sportier look.

Regarding your intake, your decision depends on what you want from your car. For example I once had a cone filter and I didn't like it because it made the car really loud. I went back to the K&N drop-in and have been happy. I also have an after-market straight-pipe (3 inch metal pipe replacing the plastic box in the intake tract). I haven't been able to conduct back-to-back tests of the straight pipe because I inadvertently threw away my stock intake, so I've been keeping my eyes open for anyone selling their stock intake, but from what I can remember it helps especially at higher RPMs.

just trying to find some small parts like the drop in. i was also thinking of removing two of the 4 mufflers my gs has and then replacing the remainging two with performance mufflers.... i wonder if you can silence them? i dont want to have a huge fart following my gs. any suggestions?

Go for reputable companies. A round cannister type will always be louder then something that I have. Mine is a magnaflow oval exhaust with magnaflow tip. Check out the other thread as I posted pics.
