Again there is no journalism being done there. Its all just Elon boot licking.
a very crass assessment. tucker carlson has no need to lick elon musk's boots.
Unless I can tow a 9,000 load a reasonable distance there is no way that the CT can do the same job that an ICE truck can do.
this gets trotted out by you and others, every, single, time. ok, yes, a CT *isn't the same* as an ice truck, there's a newsflash. it doesn't have exactly the same capabilities. however, i bet less than 1% of ice trucks tow 9000lbs ever. regardless, yes, the CT isn't for everyone. and yes, i still think it's very ugly.
a comparison to the old cadillac xlt is a good one - my neighbor's had one after another and loves 'em.
If Elon were not a right wing darling that video would never have been made and both of them would be laughing at the CT
ridiculous logic and we're not supposed to be making political comments. the CT is a novel and innovative vehicle and carlson was curious to see how it would do with someone he knows and trusts who only "does trucks" and does "real work".

newsflash, not all trucks are used for towing. and comparing a CT to a fwd-based ridgeline is ridiculous. nowhere near as powerful, no 4ws, not as roomy, not as innovative, etc.

that pic does not clearly show that the toyota is towing the CT and the article does not say that.
also, from your link:
The promise of fresh snow in the mountains reportedly brought thousands of visitors and tourists to the higher elevation communities where strict chain restrictions are in place for all vehicles with exceptions for four-wheel and all-wheel drive vehicles with snow tires. At Heaps Peak and Highway 18, officials at a chain control checkpoint are stopping vehicles that are not properly equipped with tire chains.
and in their slide show:
so maybe those vehicle were just being turned back.

A lot of CT owners use their vehicle in the same fashion as Ridgeline owners. That’s what I meant by that.
And if you clicked on the link you would’ve seen the tow strap🕵️

thanks. that was the 10th of 11 pics in the slide show so i guess i didn't make it that far, but good to know i can count on you to post a tesla in the worst light, lol.

I've basically given up. Someone posts a pic of a CT on a road that requires chains in a winter snow storm getting stuck and....conclusions

Well we know who didn’t read the entire article and look at all of the pics
Maybe the Tesla didn’t have the proper tires. Didn’t notice any chains on the tires of the Tundra
I've driven those roads in the San Bernardino mountains, and I've seen all types of 4x4's getting stuck, you have to have chains. I once got stuck with our 2004 Sienna, some road workers had to put gravel in front of my front tires so I get get moving. He wouldn't be able to tow that CT without chains with the extra weight, so he has to have chains

i don't waste time on clickbait 'news'. something tells me they wouldn't have published the story without having a CT in it.

maybe you could have qualified with that in your prior post with the tow pic.

let's not spoil the troll show and confuse things with facts and experience.

To late for that . @Bob04 showed that Tesla's do well in snow and icy conditions. From his post in my Model 3 thread: "Here's the winter weather I was talking about. Couldn't see the lines on the road. Only about 3 inches of precipitation, but the low was 23, so it froze hard and was very slick. The high today was only 35, and with the low being 15 tonight, anything that melted will freeze again. Very glad he got the AWD. It really handled it well. Might pick up some chains for the future, just in case we get something worse. Just to be extra safe"
On the mountain road where the CT supposedly got stuck, the problem is due to being on an incline that's slippery. Most cars (4x4's or not) end up getting stuck without proper tires and chains
Finally some much needed precipitation in SoCal and snow in the local mountain. Guess which truck needed a tow?
Drove over the grapevine yesterday on the way back to San Diego after a weekend in San Jose and there was a lot of snow at elevation. Not quite as much as in your pics, but there was a lot of snow falling at the top. Driving conditions in general were terrible yesterday, very heavy rain at times. Took until well south of LA before it cleared up.

When my daughter was around 3 or 4 years old, we were on our way to LA, and the Grapevine was completely covered in snow. Roads were open though. We stopped at a McDonalds, which must have had a least 3 ft of snow and let her play in it until she got to cold. If I can find pics of it I'll post it. That was way, way before the smart phone days

I’m sure those ladders and cap are providing plenty of weight. Hard to tell if it has chains. Also could be running good set of tires.

Because you’re the only one who didn’t click on all of the pics but instead rushed to post defending the Tesla truck.

Exactly, its not the same...but people keep saying its just as capable...its not. We are responding to people say it is as capable. Its fine to say that most people don't use that capability, but then its just a less capable vehicle for truck buyers who don't use the more capable ICE trucks.

Uh huh
I think we were looking for Cybertruck from a work truck perspective. I saw two truck today, the EV work truck and a gas truck.
Even the Silverado EV likely struggles as a work truck. Too small of a bed and too awkward.

Toyota pulling the Cybertruck The Tundra is also over pulling its weight as that Tundra can only tow 6400lbs I believe That Tundra has no locking diffs, was never available. It is possible that the Tundra where may not have any electronic nannies. The 2000-2004 did not have any I believe.
